Nature, History and Mythology created this paradise like place on the foot of Olympus, on the border of Thessaly and Pieria, which combines the mountain and the sea harmonically! It is worth discovering! besides the shooting tourism, many other forms of tourism "thrive" here. We shall offer you just an idea for excursions, walks, trips and diving into the sea:

Traditional Tourism
You can visit the traditional settlements of Rapsani and Krania with the stone-paved pathways and the mansions, the big village of Pyrgetos with its special stone bridge, the traditional settlements of Aigani, Palei Pori, Ano Skotina and the historical Ampelakia with the impressive Schwarz mansion, which is a museum. You can walk on the stone pathways of the scheduled settlement Paleos Panteleimon.

Archaeological- Historical Tourism
You can wonder in the Venetian Castle of Platamon, especially during the summer months when there are lots of cultural events of the International Festival of Olympus. You can explore Ancient Dion which was the sacred city of the ancient Macedonians, the neolithic settlemnt of Makriyalos, Ancient Pydna etc.

Religious Tourism
The spiritual journey of inquiring and discovering religious destinations begins just a few metres from the entrance of the "Shooting Ground of Pyrgetos", where the chapel of St. Nikodimos is founded. At Pyrgetos you can visit the Monastery of St. Endoxon Neofanon Martys Raphael, Nikolaos and Irene, and the holy church of Koimisis Theotokou. At Aigani, you can find the chapel of historical value of St. Athanasios (14th century), the oldest one in Thessaly. At Rapsani you can admire the magnificent frescos at the Monastery of St. Theodoroi (1778), almost hidden in the homonymous forest of oak trees. You may also visit the Temple of Metamorphosis Sotirios (18th cent.) and the chapel of St. John the Baptist build in 1546, according to the inscription above its gate. At Krania you will find the temples of Panagia (Virgin Mary) and St. Taxiarches with the elaborate wood-carved tablets of the 19th cent. In the Tempi valley you can cross the hanging pedestrian bridge of Pinios which leads to the small church of St. Paraskevi (1921), built inside the rock.

Wine Tourism:
Haning Dionysos as your guide, the ancient god of viniculture and wine, you can visit Rapsani and Krania, villages famous for their wine production and they are incorporated in the "Wine Roads of the Gods of Olympus", one of the journeys of the network "Wineroads of Northern Greece". It is recommended that you taste the wines of excellent quallity and especially the red wines P.D.O. (Protected Designation of Origin) Rapsani and learn about the art of their production from the local producers. You can visit the Museum of Wine and Vine of Rapsani.

Gastronomical Tourism:
The villages of Municipality of Tempi have lots of rich local productsto show. Besides the excellent wines, do not miss the chance to taste tsipouro and ouzo, to eat traditional pies and sweets, to buy herbs and spices and certainly satisfy your taste with delicious meat from local farms.

Naturalist Tourism:
Escape to Olympus and Kissavos with hiking and climbing journeys. The European path E4 starts from Litochoron. Explore the natural water park of Nei Pori with great biodiversity and ecological value at the Delta of Pinios.

Therapeutic Tourism:
The sandy beaches of Messangala and Kstri Loutro are famous for the therapeutic sandbaths.

"Sea, Sun and good mood" tourism:
Nei Pori- Kastri Loutro- Messangala- Kouloura, a coastline for restless diving into the sea, sunbathing and lots of fun on golden sandy beaches. Also discover the beaches of cosmopolital Platamon, of Skotina, of Leptokaria etc. It should also be mentioned that the majority of these beaches are presented with Blue Flags. This is a proof that they are not only clean, but they also meet a number of other criteria that have to do with their organization, the visitor's safety, the protection of nature and enviromental sensitization.
