Having state of the art courts that cover all the range of the sport of shooting and the four clay target courts as its "spearhead", with alternative activities of sports and entertainment, placed in a scenery of incomparable beauty at the foot of Mount Olympus, close to the Tempi Valley and offering unique hospitality, which attracts a great number of young and older shooters, the Shooting Ground of Pyrgetos, where the Shooting Club of Pyrgetos "Orion" is based, proves that it has an impressive set of advantages! Nevertheless, it wins the title of one of the top destinations for shooting internationally!

You will discover them by yourselves on your very first visit here! It is a vivid multiple - activity place of shooting practice, meeting, interactivity, communication and entertainment for the whole family, on a wooded slope of Olympos with a view to the blue Aegean at the same time! A place that would make all the prejudice and fear in Greece about shooting disappear!
That was Mr. Vassilis Souko's vision, whose desires have always been aiming high... So in 2013 , he moved to the construction of the state of the art "Shooting Ground Pyrgetos" in a self - owned extent of 45(1,000m2) near the village of Pyrgetos.
Next to him his daughter Eva and his wife Mary stand and play a leading part. Of course, he has spread his shooting passion to them. There are some significant collaborators by his side, who share the same vision, common objectives and have faith in the saying: "Unity is strength"! Of course, his love for shooting is not belated at all, but it dates back to his younger years and it was sealled in 2011, by founding the Shooting Club of Pyrgetos "Orion", which is a member of the Greek Federation of Shooting (ΣΚΟΕ). The Club despite its recent presence in competitions, has a lot of prizes and diplomas.
In the shooters "Kingdom"
By making use of all his knowledge and previous experienced business route so far, Mr Vassilis Soukos knows well how to aim high, qyalitatively and in combining manner. For the "Kingdom" of the shooters anywhere, he certainly chose the best "materials": High know - how, specialized shooting coaches/trainers, perfect safety standards, excellent technology and 70 simulators of moving targets. He also invested in the number supremacy of the area: Four FITASC - Compak Sporting- Sporting grounds, which are the coronet of the Shooting Ground, and also thera are four more grounds under construction. An ISSF Skeet ground and othe two under construction. Six I.P.S.C. grounds of shooting practice, multiple alternate field target grounds (airgun) and one covered ground of two positions. And all of these are surrounded and decorated by green Mount Olympus!
Family activities in nature
The Shooting Ground of Pyrgetos challenges the existing concept that the shooting grounds are male- owned and secluded by offering sports and entertainment activities for all the members of the family. It has riding- horses, bicycles and four- wheeled engine vehicles (A.T.V.) for escape walks and rides in certain routes in the woods, with the company of guides. It also has an archery ground for the lovers of archery and offers moments of fun and restlessness to the children in the playground and the animal farm, where there are deer, wildsheep mufflon, American sheep e.t.c.
A company writes history
Players or non- players complete their "adventure" here with a visit to the Bar in order to enjoy their coffee, local tastes and selected dishes, to relax,to exchange opinions and finally become a part of a great hospitable and friendly company of people. "History is made by good companies" Mr. Vassilis Soukos states.
Our efforts "hit the target"!
When eagerness, knack, professionalism and daring business activity are in a great amounts, then the positive reviews and international recoqnition are certain. The President of the International Federation of Shooting (FITASC) Jean Francois Palinka, after his visit to the "Shooting Ground of Pyrgetos", stated that his impressed by the facilities and services and he commented that it is one of the ten best shooting grounds internationallyat the sport of compak sporting!
And this is just the beginning! "We aspire that our Shooting Ground will enter the worldwide shooting map by untertaking international competitionsand seminars, which attract Greek and foreign athletes and visitors. The latter will also have the chance to get to know the traditional Greek hospitality and become its representatives abroad. The promotion of shooting tourism becomes the starting point for the simultaneous touristic promotion of our surrounding area. We have a double target! " he says, giving the main point of his objevtive simultaneously.
The nursery of new shooters
Another good omen can be found in the participation of younger shooters! Teenagers and children have already started their first shooting lessons at the "Shooting Ground of Pyrgetos". "It is about a "mindgame", through which children set targets, obey, learn how to behave more naturelly. Our concern is to promote the development of shooting , by investing in a nursery of younger shooters, who will represent the Greek shooting in the future", he concludes.
